Sign of the Gas Times

May 4th, 2011 at 05:45 am

So, I have noticed on my rounds yesterday that there were about 6 trucks for sale in people's front yards.

Now, I know that it is costly to fill up a vehicle these days. I just filled up our Neon with 11 gallons and it cost me $46.00.

And people are getting creative with their For Sale signs. One truck had written in big letters on the windshield "No Rust On This Truck".

It is really too bad that people have to try and sell their bigger vehicles because they have to cut back somewhere in order to make other ends meet.

It is kind of sad, cause if they are selling their trucks because they can't afford the gas, I am sure people aren't buying them just for the same reason...they can't afford the gas.

We've put off the purchase of our next vehicle for another month. It costs DH $31.00 per week to take the train/company shuttle. We paid more than that in gas alone for his commute. Because the size of our family we need the bigger vehicles, but we'll see how long we can continue to share a car.
