Got a Cost of Living Adjustment Raise

There hasn't been a Cost of Living Adjustment raise for two years due to the recession. But, this year there will be a 3.6% raise. That gives me an extra $56/month or $672 for the year . I'll take it.

Sweet! I'd be thrilled to get that much of a raise. Our raises are so small, when we get them, that they're almost useless. Note I said almost. I know that any increase is good but you know...

Will you save that extra $56?

Thats awesome! I have NEVER seen a cost of living increase in salary at any of my jobs Its merit-based only.

COLA raises are what Social Security gives out. For the past two years, there has been none, due to the economy. I am not specifically saving the extra, as I have debt to get paid off and would like it all paid off by the end 2012. I have done a new debt reduction plan for 2012 (in an earlier post), but it will probably need to be tweaked once I do my year-end totals, see where my debt is at, and assess the needs in the upcoming year.
